Leonard St Bernard M.Phil. B.Sc.(Hons)

CHEMIST/LABORATORY MANAGING DIRECTOR

Leonard St Bernard is the Laboratory Managing Director and co-owner of Allied Laboratories by Fit for Life Medical Services. He graduated from the University of the West Indies, (St. Augustine) attaining both his M.Phil in Chemistry and B.Sc.(Hons) in Chemistry and Management. He has extensive experience in his field of study working on numerous projects regionally and internationally alongside the Grenada Bureau of Standards and United Nations respectively. He is no stranger to the medical field having been the former Laboratory Manager at Spice Isle Imaging Centre. His extensive knowledge and expertise has led to an impeccable track record of management and implementation of Laboratory Management Systems throughout Grenada.

Shorna -Lee James Chitterman M.T.

HEAD MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Shorna Lee Chitterman is the Head Medical Technologist at Allied Laboratories by Fit for Life Medical Services. She attained her A.Sc. in Biology and B.Sc. in Medical Technology from Northern Caribbean University, Jamaica. She has served the role of Medical Technologist and Senior Medical Technologist at various laboratories throughout Grenada. She prides herself on achieving and maintaining excellence in the field of Medical Technology.

Cecil M. D. Mitchell R.Ph, MHM, MBA.

PHARMACIST/ ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR

Cecil Mark Desmond Mitchell is the Managing Director and Owner of Mitchell’s Health & Wellness Pharmacies, Fit for Life Health Club, co-owner of Fit for Life Medical Services and Emporio Grenada Ltd. Apart from being a registered Pharmacist, he studied fitness and nutrition, and is also a certified Wellness Consultant. Being the owner and operator of health, wellness, and fitness related businesses for a number of years; he got the urge to pursue a degree in Multi Sector Health Management. He pursued his goal and attained his Masters in Multi Sector Health Management from St. George’s University in 2020. His Immense passion for health, wellness, fitness, and love for people, propels him.

Claudine Lalite, B.Sc.

QUALITY MANAGER

Claudine Lalite is the Quality Manager at Allied Laboratories by Fit for Life Medical Services. She attained her B.Sc. in Biology in 2016 from St. George’s University, Grenada.

She has exceptional technical expertise in microbiological detection and has worked for many years in both a standards environment and analytical laboratories which have been ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for several years. She is observant, analytical and meticulous in her work ensuring that quality standards here at Allied Laboratories by Fit for Life Medical Services are at their finest.

Dr. Elida Batista Herrera

CARDIOLOGIST

Dr. Elida Batista Herrera, Cardiologist, graduated as a Doctor in Medicine from the University of Medical Science of Havana in August 2002. In the years 2002 to 2011 she graduated as Specialist in Integral General Medicine, Specialist in Cardiology and holds a Master’s degree in Medical Emergency in Primary Care and Adjunct Research. She has experience in echocardiography, clinical practice in medicine, teaching clinical skills and emergency care. She demonstrated research experience backed with dissertation. Her excellent academic records are noteworthy. She has an outstanding history of assisting senior professors and mentoring students. Between the years 2002 to 2006 she worked as a General Practitioner in Cuba, Honduras and Venezuela. In 2007 she started in The Cuban National Institute of Cardiology at the Ischemic Cardiopathy service, echocardiography and nuclear medicine department.

Dr. Batista has been working in Grenada as a Cardiologist since 2015.

Dr. Terron Hosten

GENERAL SURGEON/MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Dr. Terron Hosten is a Medical Doctor who graduated with Honors and Master of General Surgery. He is the Assistant Professor of Surgery, Clerkship Director and Clinical Preceptor at St. George’s University. He is also Registrar and General Surgeon at the General Hospital in Grenada. At SGU his main teaching responsibilities are centered around facilitating bedside teaching and small groups, as well as teaching in the Department of Surgery. His current research interests include advances in the management of inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Hosten is the Medical Director and Co-owner of Fit for Life Medical Services where provides his specialist Surgical services to his patients.

Dr. Emilio Everduim R.Ph

ANESTHESIOLOGIST / PAIN THERAPIST

Dr. Emilio Everduim is a Registered Medical Doctor and Specialist Anesthesiologist in Grenada. Dr. Emilio has been employed with the Government of Grenada, Ministry of Health attached to the General Hospital as an Anesthesiologist, beginning November 2014 to present. He attended a 2 year post-graduate training on Anesthesiology, at the “Miguel Perez Carreno” General Hospital. Dr. Emilio Everduim has also graced the Fit for Life Medical Clinic with his skills for the past three years, serving patients and delivering excellent service in the areas of pain therapy and anesthesiology. His calm and compassionate demeanor is always welcomed by his patients.

Dr. Dirk Burkhardt, PhD, MSc

PSYCHIATRIST/NEUROLOGIST

Dr. Arling Smith Bosch

OBSTETRICIAL AND GYNECOLOGIST

Dr. Arling Smith Bosch was born in Matanzas, Cuba. She is now a Grenadian national.She graduated as a Medical Doctor from the University of Medical Science, Havana, in August 2008. Between the years 2008 to 2010 Dr. Smith Bosch worked as a General Practitioner in Cuba. In 2010 she began her specialized studies in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2013 she graduated as a Specialist in Comprehensive Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2017 she began a 2 year stint at the Grenada General Hospital as part of the collaborative mission between Cuba and Grenada. She has extensive post graduate training in the areas of ITS Adolescents Situations, Pregnancy Mellitus Diabetes and Perinatals Results, and Coursing Medical Pedagogy. Her knowledge, training and experience allow her to give care and diagnostics in any trimester of pregnancy. Also, she identifies, controls, and indicates treatment regarding Gynecology patient’s conditions.

Dr. Crismelvi Vazquez Ochoa

OPTHAMOLOGIST

Dr.Crismelvi Graciela Vasquez Ochoa is an Ophthalmologist. She possesses a degree in Technician in Promoting Social and Health Services, which she acquired from the Maria Auxiliadora School, Barquisimeto, Lara, Venezuela.

She specialized as a Surgical Doctor at the Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado University, Barquisimeto, Lara, Venezuela. Following that she specialized in Ophthalmology at the Hospital General del Este “Dr. Domingo Luciani”, Central Universidad of Venezuela, Caracas, Distrito Capital.

Dr. Vasquez has been practicing in Grenada for the past five years, delivering excellent service to her patients.

Griselda De Souza Hernandez

THERAPIST

Griselda De Souza Hernandez is an accredited Speech Therapist. Her aim is to give attention to; diagnosing and orientation of young people and autistic children. Innovative lesson planning and teaching along with interactive learning are the means she utilizes to treat her clients as well as the application of alternative therapies, massages and psychometric tests (for adults and children). Her professional background has equipped her with solid practical skills, coupled with a deep understanding of special education needs and people of psychological situations.Together with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Special Education she has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of education, psychology and general education which have prepared her to be a successful educator.

Dr. Hector Diaz Esquiro

ONCOLOGIST

Dr. Hector Diaz Esquiro is a Registered board-certified Oncologist in both Grenada and Cuba. In September 1998 he graduated as a Medicine Doctor from the Medical College Dr. Jose Assef of Ciego De Avila. Following that, in 2004 he earned a First Degree Specialist of Integral General Medicine, from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences Dr. Carlos J Finlay, Provincial Oncology Hospital Marie curie. As a medical student between1995 to 1996, he invested his time into being an Orthopedics Assistant Student and Non-graduated Instructor until 1998. Dr. Hector has attained 22 years of work experience in the fields of Oncology and General Medicine. His jovial and positive personality earns him the respect and confidence of his patients.

Neisha Antoine

RECEPTIONIST

Neisha Antoine has over ten (10) years of experience working in the field of customer service. For the past four (4) years she has been at Fit for Life Medical Services in the position of Receptionist; where she continues to serve faithfully. She optimizes clinic workflows through skillfully managing patient appointments and doctors’ schedules. The delivery of exceptional patient experience is an essential to her. She strives to create a calm, quiet and welcoming environment for patients and their families. She places patient confidentiality high on her priority list.

Dr. Luis E. Rodriguez

GENERAL PRACTICIONER / FAMILY MEDICINE

Dr. Luis E. Rodriguez Frances is a Cuban General Practitioner, Attaining his Doctor of Medicine awarded on August 2nd, 1991 by the School of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río, belonging to the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Havana. He is a First Degree Specialist in Comprehensive General Medicine, for which he was awarded by the School of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río, on May 19th, 1999. Dr. Frances worked at the general hospital in Grenada for two years between 2014 and 2016. From 2016 to present he has been providing excellent medical services to the many patients who select Fit for Life Medical Services as their clinic of choice.

Simeon Thomas

PHLEBOTOMIST

Mr. Simeon Thomas has worked as a phlebotomist and customer service provider for over 4 years. A proud past student of St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School and graduate of the T.A Marryshow Community College where he studied phlebotomy and clinical laboratory science. Simeon attributes his decision to become a health care provider to his enjoyment of helping others in any way that he can. He strives to create a peaceful, quiet, welcoming environment for both patients and their families. He enjoys working with Allied Laboratories because in his words “when you work with the best you become the best.”

Britny Briana Parris

LABORATORY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Ms. Britny Parris is the holder of an Associates Degree in Office Administration from the T. A Marryshow Community College. She has had over two years experience working in the field of customer service thus far. Here at Allied laboratories She works toward providing excellent service, care and confidentiality to all our customers.
